The company
A locally owned and operated civil contractor operating in Central Otago and Southland are looking for a Site Engineer for projects in Southland or Central Otago.
They have a strong pipeline in place with projects in both private developments and local councils.
The role will cover:
- Large scale earthworks
- Civil works including 3 waters
- Roading
- Subdivision construction
- Infrastructure
- Site works
- Oversee daily coordination of civil works.
- Liaise with the Contracts Manager on programming.
- Interpret plans to ensure accuracy & quality.
- Ensure all safety requirements are met, prestart risk assessments, toolbox discussions, PPE equipment.
- Management of subcontractors.
- Monitoring workloads & resources to distribute work evenly and maximise utilisation.
- Environmentally aware - carry out operations in such a way to minimise our impact on the environment.
- Contract management - Contracts priced and won, on an approved profit margin.
- Bachelor of Engineering or National Diploma in Engineering, NZCE, or equivalent.
- Current driver’s license.
- History of delivering projects to meet time, quality, and budget targets, as well as customer expectations.
- Ability to manage, motivate, and relate to people at all levels.
- Experience managing civil projects.
- Self-starter who is both organised and disciplined.
This role includes an excellent salary package plus a company vehicle with health insurance. A relocation support package is also on offer for the right person.
