The government has recently renamed and repurposed the company to be a NZ-wide infrastructure delivery agency. Rau Paenga now has offices in Auckland and Wellington, as well as Christchurch, and we are now providing delivery services to departments, agencies, and companies under the Crown, and to local government where relevant to support their one-off infrastructure project and programmes of work.
  
The Project Support Office (PSO) at Rau Paenga plays an essential role in project and programme delivery, and they are growing! The PSO is looking for two talented Senior Project Finance Analysts to join their high-performing, highly collaborative team. You will play an essential role working across projects supporting the high-quality delivery of projects and programmes. 

Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About the Role
  
Reporting to the Project Finance Manager and part of the wider PSO team, you will play a crucial role as a Senior Project Finance Analyst in Rau Paenga. Essentially, as a Quantity Surveyor, you will work on the principle that measurement and cost is a vital part of a management and project process. Your highly developed skills in understanding measurement, costs and affordability will be invaluable while working on projects across construction. 

Your responsibilities will involve onboarding and managing the financial aspects of the projects Rau Paenga delivers and provides assurance on. You will be responsible for overseeing budget and cost management, as well as maintaining control over project baselines and change control processes at various levels, including individual projects, programmes and portfolios. 
  
Your expertise in construction financial management will be crucial for the successful management and execution of these projects. By closely tracking financial aspects and effectively communicating with stakeholders, you will contribute to informed decision-making and project success.

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in finance, quantity surveying or a similar profession;
  • Significant experience working in a similar role on construction/infrastructure projects;
  • Proficiency in contract management and contractual variations;
  • Experience with Proliance or similar financial tracking software would be advantageous;
  • The ability to analyse and evaluate information from a range of information sources;
  • Demonstrated integrity in business dealings at all times – ability to create and maintain trust;
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail;
  • High level of proficiency in MS Excel;
  • Good reasoning, judgement skills and ability to manage multiple competing priorities at one time.
