One of the leading Civil Engineering Consultancy’s in Auckland is excited to be recruiting for a Civil Engineer to join their Auckland office.  
  
This specialist civil engineering consultancy has been running for 13 years under its current owners but was operational for a long time prior to that under different ownership.  The company specialises in civil engineering projects in the form of residential and industrial subdivisions, retirement villages and the infrastructure and civil site works of building projects.  Their staff form partnerships with other specialist companies to ensure the successful delivery of all projects.
  
Over the last 13 years they’ve experienced consistent growth largely through referred work and have recently won another long term – large scale contract for another one of New Zealand’s largest land and property developers. As such this Civil Engineer role is business critical.
  
The successful candidate will play an integral part in the site observation, contract administration and Civil Design(Using Civil3D) of large scale land development and local government infrastructure. Responsibilities:

  • Visit sites, ensure the contractor is doing the right things, run site meetings, take site notes, contract administration, prepare and manage payment schedules, issue notice to the contractor, oversee variation orders and act as the engineers representative to contracts.
  • Actively contribute to the successful control and completion of projects. This includes scoping, risk management, and participating in project briefings and reviews.
  • Provide professional civil engineering services, including design work using Civil 3D, analysis of engineering data, preparation of CAD drawings, specifications, and managing construction contracts.
  • Establish effective working relationships with clients and support business development strategies to maximize company revenue.
  • Complete administrative tasks accurately and in a timely manner, comply with Health and Safety procedures, and observe all company policies and quality management requirements.
  
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in civil engineering, particularly in land development and local government infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D and other relevant engineering software.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving with a focus on innovative solutions.
