Based in Christchurch, this leadership position of Senior Development Manager will collaborate with the executive team to identify and secure development-focused projects. This role involves managing and delivering various programmes, with a particular focus on serving as the Development Director for significant healthcare and hotel developments. Essential for success in this position is extensive experience in managing large-scale development projects and driving their success from conception through to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor the Development Management Team.
- Identify and acquire development-led opportunities.
- Oversee delivery, performance, and feasibility of projects.
- Manage project cash flows and negotiate development agreements.
- Handle master planning, consenting, and stakeholder engagement.
- Coordinate with project consultants and manage design, procurement, and tendering.
- Prepare comprehensive reports for the board and executive team.
- Strategize and execute high-density development programs.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in property development with a strong track record.
- Deep understanding of the New Zealand property market and extensive industry contacts.
- Experience in land development preferred.
- Relevant tertiary qualification.
- Expertise in all stages of property development: funding, feasibility, planning, construction, marketing, and sales.
- Excellent communication, numeracy, and commercial skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a talent for identifying and seizing opportunities.
- Strong leadership and team collaboration abilities.
