Based in Christchurch, this leadership position of Senior Development Manager will collaborate with the executive team to identify and secure development-focused projects. This role involves managing and delivering various programmes, with a particular focus on serving as the Development Director for significant healthcare and hotel developments.  Essential for success in this position is extensive experience in managing large-scale development projects and driving their success from conception through to completion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor the Development Management Team.
  • Identify and acquire development-led opportunities.
  • Oversee delivery, performance, and feasibility of projects.
  • Manage project cash flows and negotiate development agreements.
  • Handle master planning, consenting, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Coordinate with project consultants and manage design, procurement, and tendering.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports for the board and executive team.
  • Strategize and execute high-density development programs.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in property development with a strong track record.
  • Deep understanding of the New Zealand property market and extensive industry contacts.
  • Experience in land development preferred.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Expertise in all stages of property development: funding, feasibility, planning, construction, marketing, and sales.
  • Excellent communication, numeracy, and commercial skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a talent for identifying and seizing opportunities.
  • Strong leadership and team collaboration abilities.
