An opportunity has arisen for a Property Investment Analyst to join the team in Auckland and work across Precinct’s premium investment property portfolio which includes some of the country’s most recognisable commercial property assets.

The Role
As the Property Investment Analyst you will be responsible for the delivery of accurate and insightful analysis on Precinct’s investment portfolio, capital partnerships and management business. You will have relationships with all divisions within the company providing analytical support, research and insights, and value-add services to the business in relation to current investments and new opportunities.

The responsibilities under this role may include but are not limited to the following:
  • Leading and managing the external and internal valuation processes for Precinct and its managed funds
  • Property investment and leasing analysis to support the business in making informed decisions
  • Monitoring financial and operational performance of individual investments to ensure targets are met
  • Assisting the Head of Analytics in the preparation of the annual Business Plan including property-level budgets and cash flow forecasting
  • Overseeing the preparation of Board reports and internal committee papers in relation to the investment portfolio with support from the property analysts
  • Provide analytical support to senior management and the Executive Team for various presentations, briefings and reports
  • Own different business tools that support the analyst team and the wider business to prepare appropriate analyses to support a range of different projects and transactions as directed
  • Developing, maintaining and enhancing existing tools and processes
  • Support the preparation of market disclosures, and any investor relations material
  • Produce internal and external presentations
  • Assist with preparation of environmental and sustainability reporting
  • Engage in regular research and reading to stay apprised about the state of the NZ economy, property markets, general current events and research across core and adjacent property sectors to inform strategy and business decision making
  • Build strong relationships with, and provide supervision and mentoring to, the property analyst team
Role Requirements
To fulfil the duties of the role, the preferred candidate will possess the following attributes:
  • A recognised tertiary degree in Property or Finance (e.g. Economics, Property, Valuations, Finance, Commerce/Business),
  • 3 - 5 years prior experience within the commercial property sector (e.g. property, valuations, finance, banking, funds management),
  • Sound understanding of commercial property markets and value drivers
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the capacity to produce high-quality reports, analysis, and presentations,
  • Passion, a can-do attitude, and willingness to contribute positively to team and company culture.
