This specialist commercial property management company is seeking to fill the position of a Project Manager. The Project Manager will be employed directly with the client for the duration of the construction to handover phase to lead the successful delivery of a large complex projects in the Waikato region.
This project will provide an environment that supports individuals and families, supporting greater connections with the community and whanau. It provides you the opportunity to build strong business relationships with multiple project disciplines and stakeholders.
Reporting to the Client rep lead, the Project Manager will be responsible for the successful delivery of the project through the effective oversight and management of the design and construction works, by ensuring that the D&C contractor and client meet their project agreement obligations.

Reporting to the Client rep lead, the Project Manager will be responsible for the successful delivery of the project through the effective oversight and management of the design and construction works, by ensuring that the D&C contractor and client meet their project agreement obligations.
Key responsibilities:
- Act as point of contact for the management of the project
- Ensure implementation and compliance with the Project Agreement including project specific policies and procedures
- Work with the contractors, Independent Reviewer and Client to ensure commissioning and completion milestones are carried out in accordance with project documents and that the project is delivered in a fit for intended purpose state
- Ensure procedures with the D&C Contractor are implemented and monitored
- Monitor and report against the QA and H&S management plans
- Develop and implement reporting formats ensuring that project reporting requirements are adequately met
- Attend and/or chair and take minutes at project meetings
- Management of the Variation/Change process with the Client and Sub-contractors
- Performance monitoring and management of contractors
- Identification and management of key project issues and risks
- Appropriate professional qualification in Construction, Architecture or Engineering
- Experience in delivering major projects, with social infrastructure experience an advantage
- High attention to detail with strong inter-personal and communication skills
- The ability to drive performance and productivity of contractors on site
- Technical understanding of design and construction process
- Experience in complex contract management
- Good understanding of the NZ construction industry
