The role
This is an exciting 12-month fixed-term Project Manager position, offering the chance to dive headfirst into a fresh opportunity for 2024. You will be working with a client who highly values the services provided by this Main Contractor. Your role will involve taking the reins in overseeing a significant project aimed at revitalising a building that brings joy to the community. Leading a close-knit team consisting of a site foreman, hammerhands, and carpenters, you'll not only manage the project but also provide mentorship. Responsibilities:
- Create and execute project work plans and monitor compliance with project budgets and documents
- Ensuring design specifications are being met during the construction process
- Understand cost-to-completion projections and make decisions accordingly
- Effectively manage project risk through mitigation planning
- Work with management on project progress and cost status
- Monitor and report against the implemented health and safety plan
- Attend design meetings and support design development co-ordination and decisions
- Ensure efficiency, quality and affordability across the design and installation of all essential systems
- 4 - 6 years previous experience within the construction industry
- Trade background or relevant qualification such as engineer, architecture and building science
- Knowledge of NZ build methodology
- Meticulous knowledge of the project life cycle
- Technical and detail focused
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
