One of the leading multi-disciplinary engineering consultancies in NZ is excited to be recruiting for an Associate Civil Engineer to manage 3000+ greenfield subdivisions/new suburbs as part of their industry renowned Auckland team.
A market leader in Land Development nationwide, with a strong voice at council level this employee-owned consultancy has a wonderful reputation for delivering high-quality large scale master planned subdivisions for New Zealand’s largest and most respected property and land developers.

In line with strong growth over the last 12 months and additions to their service offering they’ve created an Associate Civil Engineer Position.
You will play an integral part in leading the business forward assuming responsibility for brand new suburbs/subdivisions, developing strong relationships with clients, developers, and council. You will also be managing and mentoring a team of engineers and managing projects from concept to completion.

Responsibilities:
- Manage large scale and complex projects
- Manage individual outputs and those of the project team to deliver KPI’s for development projects
- Assist in management of staff and their selection/recruitment
- Act and present as an expert witness in council and environment court arbitration
- Be an effective mentor and professional role model for other project staff
- Uphold quality and look to improve team outputs regarding design and management of land development projects
- Manage Construction Supervision to the highest level and build strong relationships with contractors and the public
- Oversee Contract Management and make fair decisions regarding the processing and certification of contractor claims
- Be responsible for your own design work and the design, drawings and detailing of your project team
- Maintain up to date industry knowledge in areas of construction practice, modelling, software, and innovation
- Use appropriate software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D or 12D
Requirements:
- A Bachelor of Engineering university degree
- Experience in using AutoCAD and 12D software
- Local New Zealand experience required
- A track record in delivering large subdivisions
- The gravitas and relationship building people skills to lead a team and to manage relations with clients and contractors. to achieve wins and positive outcomes, both current and future
