Job description

An innovative engineering consultancy renowned for their expertise in Structural Engineering, Transport, and Land Development is excited to be recruiting for a Civil CAD Designer to join their Auckland Office.

With an interesting mix of projects Civil projects across the Infrastructure and Land Development sectors for a truly unique mix of public and private sector clients, this consultancy has diversified nicely and is looking to capitalise.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform drafting operations for project planning and data collection.
  • Prepare complex engineering drawings and adhere to CAD standards.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshooting of CAD software.
  • Stay updated with changes in computer hardware and software applications.
  • Maintain accurate drawing registers and standard detail libraries.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Resolve design and development problems creatively and logically.
  • Use various design software packages and perform complex calculations.
  • Assist in detailed designs and provide technical expertise to clients.
  • Ensure compliance with professional and technical standards and practices.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Minimum of a 3-year Diploma in Engineering or Design.
  • Typically 5 years of experience, but high performance on multiple projects may be considered.
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D software is essential.
  • Understanding of local design codes, building standards, and construction methodologies.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work calmly under pressure.
  • Effective communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Innovative thinker with strong analytical and solution-focused abilities.
