Job description
National Infrastructure Funding and Financing (NIFF) is expanding their delivery capability and looking for two exceptional Infrastructure Managers to join their team. This is your opportunity to be part of a highly impactful national infrastructure funds programme, delivering infrastructure funding across a diverse range of infrastructure assets — from cyclone recovery and flood protection, marae rebuilds and heritage buildings, drinking water and social and community assets.
These newly created roles are part of a strategic plan to build a highly skilled, collaborative and adaptable delivery team to work across NIFF’s full suite of infra funding programmes. With a focus on partnership, agility, and outcomes, we are looking for engineering qualified professionals who bring energy, credibility, and strong delivery nous — and who thrive working with diverse stakeholders to make things happen.
About us:
Formerly known as Crown Infrastructure Partners, NIFF is the New Zealand Government’s centre of expertise for funding and financing public infrastructure. They act as a key link between central and local government, iwi, NGOs, and the private sector – driving investment and delivery for critical projects that support resilient, connected and thriving communities.
The current and emerging portfolio of funds includes:
Cyclone Recovery Infrastructure Fund, Infrastructure Acceleration Fund (IAF), Bridges and structures upgrades, Māori and Iwi-led Initiatives, Connectivity Infrastructure and Rural drinking water supply projects.
NIFF also facilitates funding and financing arrangements, giving them the tools to unlock private capital and deliver public infrastructure smarter and faster.
The Opportunity:
We are hiring for two Infrastructure Managers who will each take responsibility for a portfolio of funded infrastructure projects, working closely with the Chief Infrastructure Officer, internal Programme Managers and delivery partners to oversee implementation and ensure successful outcomes.
You will:
About You:
To succeed in this role, you will bring a Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or a similar technical discipline. You will also offer a combination of commercial acumen, strategic leadership, and technical understanding of infrastructure delivery.
You will have proven expertise in influencing and leading others, with the ability to engage, negotiate, and bring diverse stakeholders together to achieve common goals and deliver against the funds purpose. Adaptability is essential, enabling you to thrive in ambiguous and fast-changing environments while making sound decisions with limited information.
Exceptional communication skills will allow you to confidently present complex information in a clear and concise manner to diverse audiences. A solutions-focused mindset will drive you to proactively identify challenges, develop viable solutions, and implement them efficiently. Political savvy is also key, as you navigate political and organisational dynamics with confidence.
What matters most is your ability to adapt quickly, communicate clearly and build trust across the table, with a high level of energy and initiative.
Why Join Us?
