Development Manager

About the Company
A private property developer that has been developing for over 30 years across commercial and residential is looking to hire a Development Manager on a 12 month contract.

There is an opportunity this role could become permanent as new projects and market conditions come online.

About the Role
Working in the commercial team you will be part of a project team that will be responsible for the successfully management and delivery of multiple projects across Auckland all at different stages of the lifecycle ranging from $50 - 100 million.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

• Working with external clients to understand their requirements, executing project requirement documents.
• Design management in accordance with project requirements documents and in line with client expectations.
• Manage relevant consultants and contractors to ensure optimal performance.
• Manage site instructions, contract clarifications and design details between contractors and designers.
• Monitor progress and report against the project programme. Develop plans to mitigate time overruns.
• Monitor site instructions & variations and report against project cost plan.
• Facilitate final inspections and ensure all requirements for practical completion are met.
• The timely provision of the necessary project reports to clients and project directors.

 As new developments opportunities come online the role will assist with:

• Preparing feasibilities and assist in analysing new development opportunities.
• Undertaking feasibility and financial analysis of prospective developments to be presented to the executive team. 

Skills & experience

• You will have at least 5 years of experience with a developer, project management consultancy, main contractor or commercial builder.
• Commercial or industrial project experience. 
• You must have a desire to upskill yourself to become a client-side development manager.
• Working closely with external stakeholders while managing the design, procurement, and tendering of projects.
• Managing the project programme and that all contractors and sub-contractors are working to timeframes set.
• Strong contract and procurement skills required.
• Highly effective with stakeholder management and building relationships at all levels.
